T Stands for EarTh Day.........

Hello all my T partiers!!! AND everyone else who stops by to say hello............  Do you remember this postcard i showed you a little while ago??? Well.... its not the same postcard!! Since i had more of the same brochure i thought i'd have another go at it... This time i painted the 4 bottles i didn't paint the first time.... and if you look i changed the color of the flowers...

Above is the original brochure.......

Now i realized i was fast running out of time to celebrate Earth Day with Ms. Elizabeth and Bleubeard so i wanted to take this T day to do just that.... Above is a sampling of all the electrical wire that was pulled out of our house when we had it rewired.... It could have all gone to the dump just like that.... but.....

We decided to salvage it.... 1. to keep it out of the dump and 2. you can get $$$ for the copper that is inside!!  So as you see in the above pic you cut open the wire you see in the previous pic of the barrel.....And you have smaller wires inside....AND after many , many hours you have..............

A big barrel of the little wires..........

Each one of those little wires you cut open and peel off the outer covering... and after MANY hours you have.......

......lots and lots of copper.........

Then you take that to the metal scrap yard and they give you $$$$ and on top of that you feel good that you kept something out of the dump.....win WIN!!   If your wondering..... Its been several months but if i remember right... by the time we were done i think we had about $150 worth.... not alot... but not bad either..... Earth Day is April 22..... If you can...... stop and give the Earth a hug........ Happy T day everybody stopping by from Ms. Elizabeth's and Bleubeards ... please note the water bottle by my hubby in the pic above... Hugs! deb

T Stands for.........

...............I goT bored.......
The header picture WAS a black and white line drawing of the web with the colored spider..... then i got bored watching TV.. grabbed the markers that i seldom use.. and thats what happened.....

I thought the spider got lost in all that mess so i painted him black and you probably can't tell but i made him glossy too...It was such a beautiful morning i took it out on the back deck with me and my coffee and had a photo shoot..... i tried to catch the shine but i don't think it worked...

.... And this is what happens when SOMEBODY.... stays up all night running from open window to open window checking things out.... i think he has a hangover and yes he totally expects me to hold his butt up while he watches videos... he thinks its a privilege... oh and please don't look at the dust on that keyboard..
oy vey.....

Quick craft room update...... the second piece of counter top went in....

Then we moved everything that was over the other side to this side.. they say things always look worse before they look better... lol

And started taping and floating over this side....Its going pretty quick..knock on wood...

Since you will see the bottom of the sink in there i decided to paint it my go to color in this house... 'oil rubbed bronze'... I'll show you again once its installed...

And last but not least i wanted to share this picture i took of hubby yesterday....This hunk of concrete has been his nemesis for a while now... When the previous people built the deck on the back of the house they didn't take out the old concrete steps that had probably been there since the house was built.... Me? I probably would have left it... out of sight out of mind kind a thing... but hubby....it bothered him and honestly it stopped us from smoothing the dirt nicely under there and sloping the dirt away from the house like it should be...So after much effort our neighbor used his tractor and finally managed to drag it out from under there... (lets not dwell on the fact that he snapped our satellite cable in two and broke the deck in two places.... nope lets just move on... at least it got out from under there.....)
Then hubby got to go at it with his new toy and break it into manageable pieces..(you may ask... why not break it up first then move it.... that was hubby's call... when you are married to a wonderful but polar opposite of yourself.. you pick your battles...lol )  That picture looks a little David and Goliath to me... lol you?   Big thanks to Ms. Elizabeth and Bleubeard for hosting the T party this week and each and every week.... Its a wonderful place to share our lives with wonderful people... I really look forward to our time together every week... See you on Tuesday!! Hugs! deb

T stands for arT, easTer, and crock poT........

.......but not necessarily in that order....

Found this little guy when we took that trip to TX last year... yep i've been hanging on to him for just the right moment...

He gets to make some little girl very happy i hope...

..there's nothing i hate worse than being tied to a stove... My crock pot is my very best friend in the kitchen...  slice two onions and cover the bottom....

lay boneless , country style pork ribs in one layer on top the onions

Pour a bottle of your favorite BBQ sauce on top.....

Cover and forget about it for 3 1/2 - 4 hours.......

About an hour before its ready start thinking about your potatoes... peel them and cut them in wedges coat them with oil ... spray it or however you want to get the oil on there... I used olive oil but you use whatever you like... salt ,pepper, garlic powder, paprika, oregano, basil... the kitchen sink...  :)   but don't forget the parmesan cheese... i think it really makes it..

400 degree oven for about 20 min. or until fork tender...

And now the art!!!  PostCard art that is.... Above is a brochure for a paint color... I thought it was so pretty... but how could i turn it into a PostCard other than just sending it as is??? That wouldn't be very crafty or artsy of me now would it...? lol

I hope you'll click the above image large so you can see how i chose a few things to paint.... Can you tell i painted some bottles and the flowers, the table, and bricks and the light bulbs .. This was so much fun!!! The paint went on and stayed on surprisingly well... Love that quote by Hemingway...

And last but not least for my T ladies some leftover pizza and some diet mt. dew... (an oxymoron i know) I meant to take the photo at the restaurant...brought my camera and everything and then forgot so... this is after we got home............ I hope you all have had a fabulous week...  Big Hugs! deb

You are One of my Nicest Thoughts..........

............Rain... glorious rain!!! Yesterday and last night must have brought us close to 3 inches of much much needed rain..... In truth its only a drop in the bucket of how much we really need but beggars can't be choosers so we'll take it!   It rolled in with some thunder and lightning and a little wind but thankfully nothing bad and as i sit here typing this more storms are rolling in... Everything is very very calm... I can hear the little peeper frogs peeping outside....

....another sketch in the sketch book.... who am i kidding... I'll keep drawing in this lined book until i fill it up...I like to complete things... walking away from this book now , leaving it half empty would bother me...lol

......and here i colored it.... lots of fun while watching TV... speaking of TV... the Walking Dead comes on tonite so i can't linger here.....Its really the only show i'm involved in on TV lately... We like Fixer Upper.... go figure huh? lol American Pickers... Planet Earth II  ,  Expedition Unknown... Mysteries at the Museum... but really The Walking Dead is the only one i try not to miss...

You Are One of My Nicest Thoughts.....
This past week has been a pretty humdrum week... Hubs working in the craftroom and at the neighbors....me caulking upstairs... invited the neighbors over for a meal.. enjoyed listening to the rain on the roof.... loving the cooler weather again... I even had time to answer a few letters.... So, my T people and everyone stopping by how has your week been? I sure do look forward to our Tuesday get togethers..... see you then!! Hugs! deb

T Stands for Winter Wonderland.......

Last week Mother Nature reminded us that Winter was not quite over.... and if you've known me for any length of time at all you know that i was over the moon happy about it!! It was only an inch or two but what  a Wonderland it was... I dragged hubby out for a walk in it...AND we popped over to the neighbor's to declare a snowball fight war...I wish i had taken more photos... It was so much fun... Then we came inside and i made hubby hot chocolate...lol
See, i have been very fortunate in my experiences with snow... I have never had to be an 'adult' in snow... I spent alot of my childhood in the NJ, PA area and then three years in Germany in my early 20's... but i have never had to be the person that had to scrape off the car or dig the car out and drive to work in it... I've always just gotten to play in it.. I'm sure if i had to deal with it every year and go to work in it i would feel differently... But for me... snow makes me feel like a kid again.......

Today you wouldn't know it had just snowed last week... Today it is pushing 80 F and its muggy humid... a breeze blowing really saves the day but even so its on the uncomfortable side... Above is a PostCard i made for Krisha... Again using some of my stash of magazine clippings.. The flowers across the bottom were punched from a clipping of eyeshadow colors in a magazine.  The little gnome was stamped and i painted him with acrylics..I was surprised how well he came out..you know usually i use colored pencils...

And this is another PostCard i made... this one for Eileen... using magazine clippings... the girl i think is from an air freshener ad and the 'flowers' are eye shadow color palette ..the background and flower stems are acrylic paint.... the flowers have glittery Wink of Stella pen on them......

This is the back of the card.. using some stamps and washi tape around the edges......

In the middle of making this post i realized i didn't have a drink photo to share with my T people... so .... i thought i would take a little creative license and share with you 'another' tea party.. this one at my bird bath... Meet the 4 Brother's Grimm... You can tell by all the green that this was taken last year.. Shortly we will have been in this house for two years and 4 crows have always been with us.... only ever 4 ... at first i was worried they may bring their friends... there is such a thing as too many crows...lol  But these 4 show up a couple times a week and i always love to see them come... Yes they take over and eat everything in sight and scare all the smaller birds away but they visit infrequently and never stay long.. so i welcome their visit....they have become like old friends.. they are such smart birds and its can be difficult to get a photo so i was overjoyed to capture this one of all four of them together.. My Brother's Grimm....... ( on a side note.. you know i have never seen them take a bath just drink from the birdbath ) I hope it will serve as my drink photo this week... If you haven't yet be sure to stop by and visit Ms Elizabeth and Bleubeard's and join the T Party! Hugs! deb
